Awards winning photographer UK Wedding Photographer of the Year 2008 BPPA Family Portrait Photographer of the Year 2005 BIPP Portrait Photographer of the Year 2003 April 2001: Fellowships awarded from both the British Institute of Professional Photography and Master Photographers Association. Fellowship is the highest award in professional qualification. Sophocles has also been presented with four Gold Medals by the BIPP. His portrait ‘Millennium Woman’ was selected for the National Display in Celebration of Portrait Photography of the New Millennium 2000. Between 1996-1998 Sophocles won the London Portrait Group Trophy three times and was presented with the prestigious Kodak Gold Award three times. Sophocles has served as a judge for both qualifications and competion at the highest level for both the BIPP and MPA. He is a sought after speaker and has given presentations both at home and abroad. The Kodak European Gold Awards, Sophocles was presented with this prestigious award in 1996, 1997 & 1998. 1996-1997 Wins the London Portrait Group Trophy three times. October 1997 Sophocles was awarded a gold medal by the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP). March 1998 The winner in the wedding category of the UK Kodak Wedding & Portrait Awards. June 1998 Another Gold medal presented by the BIPP in it's International Print Competition. This image was chosen to be part of the National Print Exhibition. The exhibition started its one year UK tour in the Royal Albert Hall. March 1999 Runner up in the Wedding category of the UK Kodak Portrait & Wedding awards. Two silver medals presented by the BIPP. January 2000 Sophocles' image 'Millennium Woman' was selected for national display in celebration of portrait photography for the new Millennium. May 2000 Presented with his third Gold Medal by the BIPP. This image is chosen for the National Print Exhibition. July 2000 Wedding Finalist for Wedding Photographer of the Year 2000. April 2001 Awarded Fellowship of the British Institute of Professional Photography, and also presented with the Peter Grugeon Award. This is the highest accolade that the Institute gives and Sophocles was the only photographer to receive Fellowship this year.
